My Story

I've signed up for Jog Jan for Pan Can to raise funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer Action.

I aim to run 200km over the month of January.

This cause is very close to my heart as my dad passed away in February 2021 after his brave two yearlong battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. My Dad was the most amazing, kind hearted and funny person there is and didn't deserve his life to be cut so short. I miss him more and more each day. This horrible disease is the UK's 5th biggest cancer killer taking 9,000 people each year and with less than 8% of people surviving 5 years after diagnosis. The incredibly low survival rate is due to there being no screening tests for pancreatic cancer and surgery is currently the only cure if caught early enough. Therefore, early diagnosis is key to ensuring less people lose their loved ones to pancreatic cancer.

About the Charity:
Pancreatic Cancer Action is the only charity that specifically focuses on improving pancreatic cancer outcomes through early diagnosis.
We raise awareness of the symptoms with the public and ensure that everyone affected by pancreatic cancer is offered access to support, free information and care.

We support and fund innovative research, provide pioneering educational training resources for medical professionals while campaigning to advance healthcare.

By taking action now, together we can make a difference.
